
Bellamy Young, born Amy Maria Young on the 19th of February 1970, ([1]) was an American actor, producer, and performer best well-known for her character Melody "Mellie", Grant the character in ABC's drama Scandal (2012)-2018. She received an award in 2014, the Critics' Choice TV Award for the most outstanding supporting actress in the drama series. Also, she was the main character in Fox's Prodigal Son (1919-2021). Young started her career as an actor in theatre. The actress made her Broadway debut in 1997, playing Mary in the original cast. The actress has performed Off-Broadway in Stephensondheim's musical Merrily We Roll Along (1994) as well as the musical of Randy Newman Faust (1995-1996). [3][10] In 1995, she made her television debut on a recurring character in The NBC daytime soap show Another World as Dr. Courtney Evans. Between 1997 and 1998, she played two guest roles on Law & Order. In 1999 she made her film debut by playing one small part in the crime thriller Black and White and later was a co-star in a number of independent films. Beginning in 2000, she began appearing in guest-starring in a variety of comedy and drama shows on television, such as The Drew Carey Show, The X Files, ER, Frasier, The West Wing, NCIS, Medium, Grey's Anatomy, Private Practice, Two and a Half Men, Supernatural, Drop Dead Diva, and Castle. Young is known to have made over thirty appearances on television shows between 2000 and 2011.
