Sharp, who was born in Rochester, New York in 1962, took classes in clarinets as well as cellos and pianos at Hochstein School of Music. Sharp's enthusiasm for performing during her high school years brought her to Boston Conservatory, where she was awarded a scholarship. Following her graduation from Cum Laude with a B.F.A. Sharp began her journey in the stage world after graduation from the Conservatory. Sharp played in her first Broadway National Tour of Carousel. Sharp was also in Abyssinia and Aida and also Thunder Knockin Jitney as well as The Producers. She was even a read of August Wilson's Come and Gone. Sharp's talents are not restricted to stage or screen. She has also written and written several scripts. Sharp is working on her first full-length album of her own. Sharp enjoys staying fit and always in top shape by studying Krav Maga and boxing. Sharp has a home in Los Angeles.
