Andrea Jeremiah

Andrea Maria Jeremiah has worked as an actress, musician and playback vocalist for Tamil films and Malayalam film. Annayum Rasoolum marked her Malayalam as well as Tamil debuts in acting. Andrea Jeremiah comes from an Anglo-Indian family background. She was the daughter of a Madras High Court attorney. There is also an older sister who is currently working as a research assistant in Leuven Belgium. Jeremiah was born in Chennai and attended National Public School and graduated from Women's Christian College. Andrea began playing piano during her eighth year. She joined the Jackson Five style troupe Young Stars aged 10. The group was the beginning of the foundation for her music and singing career. In her college she also was a theater artist and performed in stage productions produced through The Madras Players. She was also an EVAM Student Senate President at Women's Christian College. Andrea began her acting career by appearing in Girish Karnad's Nagamandala. The role she played in 2006's brand new Leo Coffee advert was in the role of Shiva. She also was a part-time actress in a TV show airing on Podhigai. She performed throughout India. She had a short character in the finale of Kanda Naal Mudhal (2005). Following her performance of a song for Gautham Vasudev Menon's Vettaiyaadu the director asked her to join as the main female characters in his upcoming film Pachaikili Muthucharam. Andrea performed the role of Kalyani the wife who's husband is in the middle of an affair with someone else. Andrea won the role of Kalyani after Simran Shobana Tabu and other actresses were approached. The film came out at the start of 2010. The film was released in August 2011. Venkat Prabhu launched his multi-starrer Mankatha. It was her turn to play a minor support role. In 2013 she made her debut in Malayalam film with Rajeev Ravi's love film Annayum Rasoolum.
